When I’m not travelling I rarely go out specifically to take pictures, rather I tend to just sling my camera in my bag if I’m out and about, riding down to the beach of an afternoon.. that sort of thing. It means I end up with lots of pictures from the same locations but the results are always interesting because it means I generally only take a picture if there’s something really interesting going on.. and this time of year that usually means some stormy stuff and fabulous light.. so with that in mind here are a few images from a couple of rolls of film just processed all taken while on my bike between my house and my nearest beach, which isn’t very far at all. One roll is my favourite Provia 100F, the other was a roll of old Ektachrome E100VS I found at the back of the freezer.. greater saturation and a more prominent grain.. I don’t like it as much but it needed using.. camera is usual Zeiss Ikon and 35mm lens, with the occasional use of my 75mm.

I have a thing about the pylons in this field with late afternoon light…

a chilly December late afternoon windsurf session for this guy…

while riding home.. this is the tiny hamlet of Carnell Green a couple of km down the road

view from outside the Sunset cafe at Gwithian on a stormy late afternoon.. it was just getting dark.. I did have my lights on the right bike for a change..

a nicely dramatic view across to Godrevy Light

something special about this sky..

..and this one…

the same afternoon, between squalls – crystal clear air..
Some dramatic beach/sunset shots, we like!
