This is the ‘about me’ page. A lifetime, as far as 39 years counts as a lifetime, in the outdoors with camera in hand. In 2010 I left a career as an aeronautical engineer to make another big journey. That was to cycle the length of the Andes. Since then I’ve been spending more time trying to make a living in a way more satisfying to my soul.. from my photography, writing, some freelance web/graphic design, outdoor guiding (kayak and bicycle) not to mention small scale fabrication of composite kayak components. Whether I manage to make all this a success remains to be seen. In the meantime however my photography portfolio is at http://www.mikesimagination.net/photography and so that I am not entirely anonymous here’s a picture .. that is me in the silly hat at 17,500ft in the Himalayas.

:)
Hey mate , great site, next week 2 other adventurers and I are flying from New Zealand to Machu Picchu in Peru and are skateboarding 2500km down to Santiago over a month.
I read that you did a lot of cycling around that region, would you be able to advise us on the road conditions?
Cheers
Troy
hey dude, sounds a properly bonkers thing to do! I’ll drop you an email over the weekend.
